Rookie blue how many seasons

Basically we were looking forward to exploring Nick without the uniform. We like the idea that the uniform is something that kept him in line—when he was in the military, and when he was on the force. What was it going to be like for him without it? TTVJ: Traci had a really rough go of it, especially when it came to her love life. Would she have eventually found some happiness in the love department or was she going to focus on work?

SW: Traci was going to be focused on work—running guns and gangs—we were going to take a little break from her love life this year. SW: Yeah, we were going to explore their domestic situation—but their happiness was going to be interrupted with Chloe going through something traumatic at work, where she had to battle a bit of PTSD.

We wanted to challenge her optimistic exterior with something heavy. They were going to get through it okay, and stronger for it, by the end of the season. What sort of antics would he have gotten himself into in Season 7? SW: He was going to be off being a big shot on a small town force, hunting rabbits on his days off and being sober.

TTVJ: Tassie said there were some plans for some new characters. SW: Yeah, we had 4 new Rookies. Hannah, who I told you about. Nadia who was going to be taken out in the first episode. Then we had Zander, a young gay cop, and Jayden, a young black cop who lived in the project housing with his mother and his three younger siblings who he was going to be feeling very responsible for. There was going to be some challenges for him and keeping his younger brother out of trouble.

TTVJ: Ultimately how did you and your team feel about the decision to not bring the show back for another season? SW: I was sad for sure. Rookie Blue was a big part of my life and I was really excited to take on the challenge of trying to reboot the show. But in truth, I think the heart of the show was with Sam and Andy, and I think we told that story really really well.

It is hard to keep telling the story of a fairy tale beyond the happily ever after without taking some of the shine off of the romance of it all. So, in the end, I get it. I always had that fear in the back of my mind that despite working really hard to come up with some great stuff, we were always in jeopardy of being that season that was just one season too many. So maybe in getting canceled, we dodged a bullet! Rookie Blue fans what do you think about Season 7 and what could have been?

Add them all in the comments below! Editor in Chief Bridget Liszewski comes from a long line of TV Junkies who fostered her love of television from a very young age. She's channeled that passion into covering both US and Canadian television shows, and is thankful everyday for the invention of the DVR. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she loves college football and is a fan of sports in general. We all know there was really no intention of having that kid be a part of the show… It was just supposed to be for drama in season 6.

So, thanks for sharing this information! At least I can move on now and not wonder! I mean it sounds like SW was pretty much in tune with how that particular storyline went down. I simply skip it while rewatching it. Live with the reality a while before making it permanent. If we never had to see Marlo or her baby again, it would have been even better.

What about Steve? Were we going to see him? Like the effects of losing a Rookie has on the group. I mean it was clear that they would come up with something that would not let Andy and Sams relationship be smooth sailing. But they make it appear like no relationship has ever endured something that could possibly end it, but that not even coming up as a thought.

Like simply working different shifts or one of them temporary being placed in another Division or the realities of the Job and the things they see every day catching up with them. It does appear that they wanted to do something in that direction with Chloe, but at the same time it Looks like she develops PTSD because of a traumatic event that happens to a co-worker and not because of being a first responder per se. But over the years, especially since S4, it simply lost something that it had in the beginning.

I mean the end of S6 let us see them go in a certain direction that was mostly positive, not that everything would be totally fine and everything would be rosey but that those character could overcome things. To me it was like they went in the direction of having to come up with more and more dramatic stuff that could happen to the characters. For me that was already happening and very visible since the end of S5.

While I was glad for her promotion at work, she just seemed to lose so much: Holly, Sophie, Steve to prison and most likely her parents who were angry with her. It would have given a glimmer of hope for fans who rooted for Gail to find her happy ending with Holly. What about Duncan??? I thought Matt Murray was awesome as Duncan! Loved his scenes with McNally! I know this comment is old but Duncan says in the last episode that he got transferred to another division. He was no longer part of 15, which was better for everybody including himself.

I love rookie blue and i miss it I look for to it every time it come. I just loved this show. I thought that there were a lot of story lines there to be investigated. I always looked forward for this show to come back …. Thanks for sharing what would have happened.

I miss Rookie Blue , but I am so glad that it was on and now I am hoping that this will free more good energies for more wonderful shows in the future. I really appreciate all you do to entertain and in so doing , make this world a better place. Maybe we will see these fine actors in some new shows.

Loved this show and ABC picked it up too late to gain a larger fan base in US…not surprised Global axed it — they cancelled a great show when it was making major strides. I really loved Rookie Blue I hated to here it was canceled all 5 seasonal that I saw was great I missed all of season 6 but what I read of season 7 it was great.

I wished there was a book out on Rookie Blue I would love to have read it. You did a great job on the show and it will truly be missed but thank god for DVD we can buy it and watch it as many times as we want. I wish everyone would stop hating on the baby.

How is that not obvious to you? I totally agree with you. A pointless, nasty and insidious hit to the dedicated fans that made Rookie Blue so successful. There were so many fans that dropped off after the Marlo baby threat in 5. Great producers know you put all your might and the best of the best into the ending season. Andy and Sam were ready at the end of season 5 to move on and get married in season 6.

They could have done it up big with a proper courtship, engagement, party and wedding. The Marlo character never worked in season 4 and totally ruined season 6! Who wants to have to suffer through most of the season just to get to something good at the end. People want to be thrilled and excited to watch the episodes throughout.

Not dread them…. Marlo had more air time and focus then just about anyone. Fail, Fail, Fail. And now we, the fans, have no more Rookie Blue. Thank you Tassie for being so selfish! Someday you will learn to listen to your fans! And clearly the pattern would continue. And leaves the baby in the custody of a mother that was clearly unprepared and to be blunt, recently suffered from major bouts of instability.

It is so evident that the baby was just written in to create drama and little thought was given to the aftermath.

Quotes Staff Sgt. User reviews 76 Review. Top review. I want to take a moment to defend this show, and I will defend it mightily. Yes, there are some unresolved issues that the creators would benefit from paying some attention to. Yes, the show can be much better than it is.

Yet, that in itself is kind of inspiring, and certainly enough to keep this show around for more than one season. I would be willing to see a LOT more of it, in fact. It has so much opportunity to address so many issues with its fantastic premise. If it bobbles every once in a while like with the third, so what? It was strange. I wrote them in one sitting, cried a lot and then worked on them with the actors and [director] David [Wellington].

We really worked on them, word by word, to make sure they were authentic and that the actors believed them. We ultimately stayed very close to the first draft that I wrote.

It seemed like Marlo would be thoughtful enough not to want to be there, even if Andy and Sam had invited them — and we really wanted one perfect, obstacle-free night for McSwarek. Is there a reason? Open to viewer suggestions! It could be. That was my way of saying that, yeah. I love that couple. I ship those two. Why did you decide to keep everyone together at 15?
