The old school gave way to fresh young voices. Even online journalists got a look-in. Ultimately though, Sunday Supplement was flawed by design. Before she was even confirmed as the new presenter, Jacqui Oatley was already a popular choice among Sunday Supplement fans. A huge outpouring of support has greeted the announcement with fellow journalists and sports fans congratulating Jacqui on the role. However, not everyone is pleased to see Oatley take on the role as she pointed out in this tweet. It was initially alleged that it was actually filmed in former host Jimmy Hill's kitchen but the truth came to light on several occasions in when Hill was late claiming to be stuck in traffic.
The move was unpopular with some fans of the show, who thought that Sky were letting go of a star. These fears proved groundless, however, and under Brian Woolnough's chairmanship, the programme has improved considerably.
It retains a loyal fan base, and its viewing figures are steadily rising.
